Our Health Guarantee
Bringing home a puppy is one of those significant life decisions that sits somewhere between pure excitement and understandable nerves. You have probably spent hours scrolling through photos, reading up on the breed, worrying about potential health pitfalls, and wondering how you will ever choose the right breeder. So before you get to that stage with us, we wanted to set out exactly what you can expect when it comes to your puppy’s health and genetic background no vague promises, no small print designed to confuse you, and no legalese designed to dodge responsibility. Just a thorough, plain-English explanation of how we protect you and your new family member.
We breed healthy Maltipoo puppies from our home here in the UK, and we also raise toy Maltipoo puppies for families who are after that slightly smaller, more compact companion. Whichever size suits your household best, every single puppy grows up the exact same way: inside our home alongside our children, surrounded by everyday family life not in an outdoor kennel out the back, a shed, or a cold, clinical commercial setup. We firmly believe that an enriched, warm home environment matters just as much to a puppy’s overall immune strength, mental wellbeing, and long-term vitality as anything a vet can check off on a form.
What “Healthy” Actually Means to Us
It would be easy to slap the word “healthy” on a website homepage and leave it at that, as so many sellers do. We would far rather show you the daily standard that stands behind it. Our healthy Maltipoo puppies are nourished with high-grade, species-appropriate nutrition from weaning onward, alongside balanced rest schedules, gentle daily physical handling from our family, and natural exposure to the noise and bustle of a busy household.
Because our puppies are gently handled by our children every day and live right at the heart of our home routine, our toy Maltipoos grow up remarkably confident, stable, and well-accustomed to everyday home items. They do not startle at the hum of the hoover, footsteps on the stairs, doors closing, toys on the rug, or a kettle boiling. It sounds simple, but a puppy raised in a calm, attentive environment with early neurological stimulation settles into a new home far more smoothly than one raised in isolation.
Our toy Maltipoo puppies receive the exact same meticulous level of care as their standard-sized littermates. Size does not change how much focus a puppy gets from us if anything, we keep an even closer watch on our toy pups simply because their smaller frames require careful monitoring of glucose levels, body temperature, and weight progression in the early weeks.
Vaccine Records & Veterinary Documentation Yours to Keep
Every puppy that leaves our home goes to their new family with a complete, bound portfolio of veterinary records. This is never an optional extra, an afterthought, or something we promise to post later it is an absolute requirement of our handover process.
Your paperwork packet includes:
-
Official Veterinary Health Certificate: Signed and stamped by our registered UK veterinary surgeon following a full physical examination (checking heart sounds, palate closure, eyes, ears, skin, joints, and abdominal integrity).
-
Vaccination Card: Clear, written documentation detailing the primary vaccination course given, including the exact brand, batch number, and administration date, so your local vet knows precisely how to schedule any follow-up boosters.
-
Microchip Identification: Complete microchip registration details provided in compliance with UK law, ready for immediate transfer to your contact details.
-
Parasite Control Schedule: A complete log of all preventative worming and flea treatments administered from two weeks of age onward, including the specific veterinary products used.
We always strongly encourage you to book your puppy in with your own veterinary practice within the first few days of collection. This allows your vet to perform a welcome check, meet your new addition, and help you establish a trusted professional relationship right from day one.
Our Health Guarantee, in Plain English
Alongside your veterinary records, every puppy is protected by our written 12-Month Health Guarantee. We know “guarantee” can be a term that gets thrown around casually in the pet industry, so here is the exact structure of how our coverage protects you:
-
12-Month Congenital & Hereditary Protection: We guarantee your puppy for a full 12 months from the date of collection against severe, life-threatening, or debilitating congenital and hereditary conditions (including severe cardiac defects, hereditary liver shunts, and disabling spinal anomalies). If a qualified, independent veterinary surgeon diagnoses a life-altering congenital condition within this period, we will offer either a full refund of the purchase price upon return of the puppy, or coverage for necessary veterinary treatment costs up to the original purchase value of the puppy, allowing you to keep your family pet.
-
Initial 72-Hour General Health Cover: We guarantee that your puppy is free from infectious diseases (such as parvovirus) and clear of acute illness at the time of handover. We require you to have your puppy examined by a licensed vet within 72 hours of collection. If your vet identifies any pre-existing acute illness or underlying health fault during this window, you may return the puppy for a 100% full refund or request full reimbursement for the necessary immediate treatment costs.
-
What Isn’t Covered (Fair Exclusions): Our guarantee is designed to be fair and transparent. It does not cover conditions resulting from post-collection accidents, physical injuries, neglect, improper diet, heatstroke, or failure to maintain routine preventative vet care. Minor, common, and easily treatable conditions common to young puppies such as transient stress-related loose stools, minor umbilical hernias that do not require surgical intervention, or minor external parasites acquired after leaving our care are excluded from long-term congenital coverage, though they are verified clear during our pre-sale vet check.
-
Our Simple Requirements from You: To maintain the validity of this guarantee, all we ask is that you complete your initial 72-hour welcome vet check, keep up with routine vaccinations and preventative treatments, feed a high-quality balanced puppy diet, and avoid strenuous jumping or over-exercising during your puppy’s critical bone development phase in their first year.
We refuse to leave vague, sweeping gaps in our terms. Everything is set out in black and white so you can review every word in comfort long before you ever place a reservation deposit.
We hope you will never need to use this process, but if a health concern or unexpected question arises after your puppy has settled in, please contact us immediately. You should never feel like you are on your own with a worry.
Our health enquiry and claim process is straightforward:
-
Initial Contact: message us directly at
contact@maltipoohome.co.ukto let us know what is happening, ideally while or immediately after consulting your vet. -
Veterinary Documentation: If a formal health claim is being raised, simply request a written diagnostic report and clinical history from your treating vet so our own veterinary advisor can review the findings.
-
Prompt Resolution: We review all health documentation within 24 to 48 hours. We will liaise directly with you and your veterinary clinic to arrange agreed treatment funding or processing under the terms of your guarantee.
This is not a bureaucratic box-ticking exercise for us. When you welcome one of our puppies into your home, our care and responsibility for that little life continues for years to come.
Beyond the Paperwork
A comprehensive health guarantee and a clean set of vet records are vital foundations, but they are only part of the journey. Responsible puppy ownership plays just as crucial a role booking your vet visits promptly, staying on top of routine care, providing mental enrichment, and reaching out to us whenever you feel unsure about feeding, teething, or routine changes.
We are always here to offer guidance, share reassurance, or help you talk through normal puppy behaviors. Most of our families stay in touch with us for years, sending us update photos and Christmas cards, which is the most rewarding part of what we do.
If you are currently weighing up whether a standard or toy Maltipoo is the right fit for your household, we genuinely want you to ask us all the tough questions now. We want you to feel 100% confident, informed, and comfortable before making any commitment.
