About Maltipoo Home

We are a small, family-focused Maltipoo breeder based in London. Our puppies grow up inside a real home not a kennel, not a commercial facility, and not a temporary set-up designed only for visitors. They are raised in the same living space we occupy every day, surrounded by the ordinary sights, sounds and routines of family life.

Choosing a puppy is one of the bigger decisions a household makes. It should feel personal, comfortable and reassuring. That is the standard we try to hold ourselves to. We would rather answer questions properly, allow time for visits, and only go ahead when it feels right for both sides, than push anyone into a rushed decision.

This page is simply an introduction to who we are, how we work, and why we raise our Maltipoo puppies the way we do.

Why we chose Maltipoos

Maltipoos sit at the meeting point of two well-loved breeds: the Maltese and the Poodle. From the Maltese they often inherit an affectionate, people-oriented nature. From the Poodle they frequently take intelligence, trainability and a coat that sheds less than many other small dogs. The result, when carefully bred and properly raised, is a compact companion that suits a wide range of UK homes from London flats to quieter family houses in the surrounding counties.

We are drawn to the breed because of this combination of temperament and size. A well-socialised Maltipoo can be a genuine part of daily life: happy to curl up beside you, interested in what the household is doing, and usually content with moderate exercise as long as mental stimulation and company are provided. They are not a “set and forget” dog, however. Their coats need regular attention, they form strong bonds with their people, and they do best in homes that understand the commitment involved.

We do not market extreme size labels. Terms such as “teacup” are commonly used in online searches, but they are not official breed classifications. Our focus remains on health, temperament, early socialisation and a realistic adult size rather than miniaturisation for its own sake.

Why home raising matters to us

There is a noticeable difference between a puppy that has spent its first weeks in a quiet, consistent home environment and one that has known mainly kennel or commercial conditions. In a home, puppies hear the kettle boiling, doors closing, conversation, the television, and the general comings and goings of daily life. They are handled regularly by the same people. They learn that human contact is normal and safe. They begin to experience short periods of separation from the main group as they grow, which helps prepare them for the transition to a new family.

In our London home the puppies are:

  • Handled gently every day from an early age
  • Exposed to ordinary household sounds and activity at a pace that does not overwhelm them
  • Given balanced time for play and proper rest — puppies need a great deal of sleep
  • Introduced gradually to basic grooming, including soft brushing and gentle handling of paws, ears and mouths
  • Started on litter and pad training once they are developmentally ready

Progress is never identical from one puppy to the next. Some are bolder, some more thoughtful; some take to toilet training quickly, others need more time and consistency. We describe what each puppy has actually begun to learn rather than claiming they are “fully trained” or “perfectly socialised.” Honesty at this stage saves disappointment later.

You can read a more detailed account of our daily approach on the How We Raise Our Puppies page.

How we work with families

We prefer conversation over sales scripts. When someone contacts us we are happy to talk through lifestyle, expectations, grooming commitments, and whether a Maltipoo is likely to be a good fit. Some households are out for long hours with no realistic plan for the dog; others have very young children and need careful guidance about supervision. We would rather discuss these points openly than pretend every home is suitable.

Where possible we encourage a visit. Seeing the environment, meeting the people who have been raising the litter, and observing the puppies (and mother where appropriate) gives a far clearer picture than photographs alone. Visits are by appointment only. This keeps the experience calm for the puppies and allows us proper time to answer questions without rushing.

If a particular puppy feels right, we explain the reservation process clearly. A puppy is not considered reserved until the agreed conditions including any deposit have been met. There are no artificial countdown timers or pressure tactics. Availability is stated as it is: currently available, reserved, or already with a new family.

After a reservation is confirmed we share practical information: current feeding routine, progress notes, and guidance on preparing the home. When the puppy is legally ready to leave (never before eight weeks of age under English law) we arrange collection from London or discuss delivery options if travel is difficult. The handover is unhurried. We want families to leave feeling informed rather than overwhelmed.

Our location and the families we meet

We are based in London. Over time we have spoken with families from across Greater London and the wider South East — Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and further afield. Some travel in for a visit and collection; others ask about delivery when distance makes repeated journeys impractical. In every case the same principles apply: clear communication, realistic expectations, and the puppy’s welfare as the priority.

Exact address details are shared once a visit is arranged. We do not publish a full residential address on the website for privacy reasons, but we are transparent about the general area and the practicalities of visiting or collecting.

Responsible ownership and long-term thinking

A Maltipoo is not a short-term pet. Many live twelve to fifteen years or longer. Over that time they will need regular grooming (often several times a week at home plus professional attention every four to eight weeks), consistent training, mental stimulation, and human company. Separation anxiety can develop if a dog is left alone for long periods without preparation. Coat neglect leads to matting and discomfort. None of this is intended to put anyone off it is simply the reality of the breed.

We encourage prospective owners to think carefully about their routines, their housing, and their willingness to commit to the practical side of ownership. We are happy to talk through these points. A good match benefits everyone: the family, the puppy, and the long-term relationship that develops.

Prospective buyers should also be aware of the legal framework in England. Puppies must not be sold or permanently separated from their mother before eight weeks of age. Licensed breeders have specific requirements around advertising, record-keeping and welfare. We operate within the applicable rules and will share licence information where it applies to us.

What we do not claim

We do not describe ourselves as the “best” or “number one” Maltipoo breeder in the UK or London. We do not invent reviews, ratings or awards. We do not promise a guaranteed perfect temperament or a completely problem-free dog. What we can offer is a small number of carefully raised puppies, honest communication, and a process that prioritises suitability over speed.

Looking ahead
